New Frilly Thomas & Friends Kids Costume {Review}

Wearing her Thomas and Friends
boy pyjamas under the new dress.
I have a cheeky little girl, nicknamed Princess Destructo. As the name suggests, she's a bit of a tomboy but still loves her pink sparkly shoes while playing with her trains and tracks.  Her obsession with Thomas and Friends started nearly a year ago.  It's progressed to the point where she has a metropolis of tracks and wears her Thomas pyjamas daily.  Every time Princess Destructo sees another child wearing Thomas she asks "Mommy, why can't girls have shirts and hats?"  It has been frustrating to say the least.  Since dress-up happens in our house all year and not just Halloween, I searched  @CostumeClub for kids costumes.  First I found some apron type Thomas and Friends costumes.  The next page revealed the Frilly Thomas and Friends costume.

It's our favourite of the 2012 costume line up for sure.  Featuring a soft blue fabric top with attached tulle skirt, this licensed Thomas and Friends costume can pass for a dress.  Princess can pull it on and off by herself because of the easy open velcro tab at the back of the neck.  This promotes self-help skills while she gets to dress up as her favourite character.  The costume comes with a mini conductor's cap.  I love that it is fitted to a headband to help keep it in place. In fact, it's the ONLY headband my daughter will wear.

Verdict:  Retailing at $27.98 this licensed costume is a bargain! Beware that the costume fits a little small. Only available in a size 3T/4T I'm glad my 3 year old Princess is only 29 pounds and the costume fits perfectly right now.  I believe it is made of high quality material and will last her until she grows out of it.  I've already had to wash it twice because she refuses to take it off for meals.  Soak it in the sink for a few moments in gentle detergent, dab gently at stains, and hang it to dry overnight.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary costume to review.  All opinions remain honest and my own.
